kholo Cricket Betting — Bet on every match from BPL to T20 World Cup
Betting on Bangladesh's most popular sport is now easier than ever. At kholo you can bet across all three formats — T20, ODI and Test — on markets ranging from match winner to top batsman. With live in-play options, you can make decisions as the odds shift throughout the match.
Cricket's three formats and the competitions that get the most attention
The three formats of cricket offer quite different betting experiences. T20 is the fastest — just twenty overs, so the situation can change with every ball. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are the most familiar to Bangladeshi fans, and the ICC T20 World Cup sparks conversations everywhere from Dhaka to tea stalls across the country. In T20, any team can turn a match around in the final over — that uncertainty keeps the betting markets lively.
ODI format has fifty overs, so the pace is a little slower but strategy becomes more important. You can place live bets during the middle overs by tracking the run rate and wickets in hand. ODI markets attract many active bettors during series between Bangladesh and the major sides.
Test cricket is a five-day game — here, alongside a match winner, a draw is a genuine outcome. On a batting pitch, batsmen can stay in for long periods and scores can climb high, while on a turning pitch spinners can take wickets quickly — the situation takes on a new shape with every session.
kholo also offers betting on football. There is one key difference between cricket and football betting — in football, only a handful of goals are scored in 90 minutes, and because scores are low, a single goal can shift the odds significantly. In cricket, many small events happen in every over (sixes, fours, wickets, dot balls), so live markets update far more frequently. Cricket betting is also influenced by the toss result, pitch type and weather — factors that do not apply in the same way to football.
The markets most popular among bettors
Betting on a match is not limited to just one question — who will win. Below are seven markets that bettors find most interesting.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which of the two teams will win. In T20 and ODI there are two outcomes (team A wins or team B wins); in Test cricket there are three (team A wins, team B wins, draw). For example, in a limited-overs match between team A and team B, each side is given separate odds.
SimplestToss Betting
A chance to bet before the match begins. You decide in advance which team — team A or team B — will win the toss. Since the probability is roughly equal, the odds are usually close. Knowing the pitch type can also help you estimate which team might prefer to bat or field.
Pre-matchTop Batsman
This market is about which batter in a team will score the most runs in an innings. The top-order batter in good form usually has lower odds (meaning they are the favourite), with higher odds for the rest. It is particularly popular in T20.
Skill-basedTotal Runs Over/Under
The site sets a specific run target (line) — for example 160 runs. The bettor decides whether the total runs in an innings will be above that line (over) or below it (under). On a batting pitch bettors may lean towards over, while on a bowler-friendly pitch they may lean towards under.
Numbers-basedMulti Bet (Multiple Matches)
You can combine the results of multiple matches into a single bet. If all results are correct the total return is much higher, but if any one result is wrong the entire bet is lost. For example — placing a multi bet on three matches at odds of 1.40, 1.80 and 1.90 respectively gives combined odds of 1.40 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 4.79. A ৳100 stake returns ৳479 if all win — if even one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
Higher ReturnTop Bowler
This market is about which bowler will take the most wickets in an innings. On a pace-friendly pitch, fast bowlers have lower odds; on a turning pitch, spinners do. This market is available in both Test and ODI formats.
Bowling-focusedMan of the Match Betting
Many markets also allow you to bet on who will be named Man of the Match. This typically centres on an opening batter or a lead bowler. There is the most uncertainty in this market, so the odds tend to be comparatively higher.
How to read odds — three format examples
Odds are simply a number that tells you how much you will get back if you win. The same odds can be written in three different formats across different sites: decimal, fractional and American (with a + or − sign).
All three formats express the same odds in different ways. The table below shows how they correspond to each other.
To better understand the rules around betting, it is worth reading the terms and conditions page.
| Format | How it is written | Example 1 — Team A wins (৳500 stake) | Example 2 — Team B wins (favourite, ৳500 stake) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | A number followed by a decimal point | 3.00 — total return ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 original stake) | 1.50 — total return ৳750 (৳250 profit + ৳500 original stake) |
| Fractional | Written with a slash (profit / stake) | 2/1 — ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked | 1/2 — ৳1 profit for every ৳2 staked |
| American | Written with a + or − sign | +200 — ৳200 profit on a ৳100 stake | −200 — a ৳500 stake is needed to win ৳250 profit |
Example 1 — Details
Team A's odds to win are 3.00 in decimal, 2/1 in fractional and +200 in American. A ৳500 stake returns a total of ৳1,500 if team A wins — ৳1,000 profit plus the ৳500 original stake. If team A loses, the ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 — Details (Favourite)
Favourite team B's odds are 1.50 in decimal, 1/2 in fractional and −200 in American. Here the minus sign means how much you need to stake to win ৳100. A ৳500 stake returns ৳750 if team B wins — a ৳250 profit. Whenever you see a minus sign in American odds, it tells you that is the favourite's odds.
Live In-Play Betting LIVE — How odds change when a wicket falls
In-play betting means placing bets while a match is in progress. In cricket this option is particularly useful because the pace and outcome of the game can change with every ball. When a wicket falls, the batting team's chances of winning decrease, so their odds lengthen and the bowling team's odds shorten.
Say the batting team has a good score at the 15th over and has become the favourite. If three wickets suddenly fall in a big over, their ability to maintain the required run rate drops and the odds shift quickly. In the live market, that moment creates an opportunity to make a new decision.
After the powerplay or during the middle overs, bettors take positions in the total runs market based on the run rate. If good batters are at the crease in the final five overs there is a lean towards over, and if wickets have fallen there is a lean towards under. That is the main draw of live betting.
- If many runs are scored in the first innings powerplay, the batting team's odds shorten and the likelihood of a higher second innings target increases.
- On a hat-trick ball or after two wickets in quick succession, live bookmakers change odds very fast — these are the moments when the market is most active.
- Due to the dew point, pacers can outperform spinners at night — this can affect the live top-bowler market.
- On the final day of a Test, if the chance of a declaration or draw increases, the odds in the match winner market tend to even out considerably.
A few things to keep in mind before you start betting
Cricket betting is a form of entertainment — it is better not to treat it as a source of income. Only use money that you can afford to lose without it affecting your daily life. Most experienced bettors will tell you that setting a budget and sticking to it gives you a better experience in the long run.
Before betting on a market, make sure you understand it well. Match winner is straightforward, but markets like total runs or top bowler require you to consider pitch conditions and team form. More detailed guidance is available on the responsible gaming page.
